Are you addicted to stress?

ree

By the time mid-life rolls around, I find many of us are..

…how so?

On her coaching discovery call with me, Jane (49) shared how overwhelmed she’d been feeling lately.

“I don’t know if it’s my work;

my relationship issues or menopause.…

I feel like running away sometimes.

Where’s my spark gone? I just yearn for easier days..”

She did have an awful lot going on;

  • Her kids leaving home was causing a mixed bag of emotions - both pride and sadness..fear of the quiet and the unknown.

  • She hadn’t been getting on with her husband recently.  “Nothing major,” she hastened to add, “just a feeling of…irritation.”

  • Work was draining - a cranky, demanding boss and managing a team left her feeling worn out most days, and

  • The growing worry about her elderly parents and in-laws who seemed to need her more and more.

Choosing contentedness to reduce midlife stress.

My clients are women over 40 and they share intimate stories of the burdens that are unfairly placed upon us at this stage.

The unrealistic demands of those ‘sandwich years’ caught between aging parents, moody teenagers and becoming an empty-nester, all while juggling work, friendships and the rest.

So, when I ask if stress has become the norm for them, my clients often reply - “yes.”

Coaching’s about helping you see what’s really going on in your life and helping you let go of anything that needs to change.

The patterns, the habits, the ‘same old same old’ that you’re sick of…

You’ll learn do-able strategies that change you forever -

so you can drop some of that stress!

Because, yes, we do chose it. At least some of it.

And when we consider what we’ve been through by the time we’re in midlife, it’s no wonder that being stressed can become an unhealthy norm for us. So much so, we can become adjusted to stress chemistry - chemicals like adrenaline and cortisol that course through us when life is stressful.

Think about it - these chemicals are stimulating, and we can get used to that..

Pretty soon, we cant sleep at night because even though we’re tired, our system is amped up on cortisol and too much caffeine from an exhausting day.

It can be really powerful to step back, get a new perspective and a new voice in your life that helps you see what’s going on - so you can let go and actually enjoy your midlife!

Are you actually enjoying yours or does this feel like the right time to finally make some changes - maybe in your health; lifestyle; job or even your location...

If so, it's time to get a coach to support your journey of transformation and keep you accountable to your goals. Book a free coaching discovery call now and let's see if we're a good match for each other.
