We all go 'off piste' from our plans, diets and new year resolutions.


That's why I plan in for you to self sabotage when you coach with me.


Because life isn't perfect and that's when you'll resort to your old coping strategies like overeating, overthinking, over drinking. Not showing up for your daily walk. Blaming the weather. Whatever.


Any plan that doesn't take account of how the habit loop works in real life is doomed to fail. It doesn't take account of the truth. What is that truth?


"The Mind Likes Adventure but The Body Loves Routine."

Yes - part of your mind will rail against the new you. Your body is up for the health ride because it loves and rewards routine!


Your mind....?


Not so much. Give it a line to colour outside of...


That's why you need a coach on your team who has studied how habit change works. On how important it is to go slowly at first and celebrate all the tiny wins along the way to build momentum and self belief quickly. To do this, you need to experience the energy of success along the way. You see, your mind is motivated by you showing up for commitments you make, especially commitments to yourself. It is de-motivated by you making a big goal and then failing at the second hurdle. Then it tells you to give up.


That's when the ice cream or wine start calling you.
